We just saw closing night of Impact Theater's Tis Pity She's a Whore. It was done in modern dress, but still appropriately bloody for a Jacobean vengeance tragedy. Just enough cast alive at the end of the show to drag off the bodies.
The house is in the basement of a pizza parlor, so it suffers from noise and heat and low production values, but the show was good. Unfortunately, closing night, so I can't encourage you to go and see it. It's a good thing Grimaldi didn't survive the first act, because he would have stolen the show otherwise. Excellent physical comedy in a Good Charlotte t-shirt.
Also? When Annabella and Giovanni are about to get it on for the first time, this guy across the aisle from us leans over to his seatmate and whispers way too loudly "Wait. Aren't they brother and sister?"
I'm talking to the director about getting a list of the incidental music she used so I can make a mix disc.

And for those of you who don't read Making Light: Mall Ninja!

"and unlike you I have to face unruly shoppers every day."

EDIT:
Because I couldn't resist....
"You *want* him in that mall. You *need* him in that mall!"

Today was a day of mighty redecorating. Part of the carnage is a lot of VHS tapes. I'm reluctant to just throw them away, because they're not bad movies but I'm unlikely to ever get out the VHS player and watch them.
Is there a charitable organization, or something like that, where people would say "Hey, two or three boxes of VHS tapes! That sounds great!"? Maybe some sort of historical re-enactment society that gets together on weekends and listens to Cyndi Lauper and rats their hair?
