Because what we really would like to do is just quietly and politely sweep this under the rug and pretend it didn't happen--that the biggest fabricated dragnet since the Democratic National Convention was just a little overenthusiastic but good intentioned police work.
The cherry on the sundae? "If such arrests continue in the future, at political functions or other protests, there will be alarming consequences," said Brewer. "If the trend persists, it will have a chilling effect on journalism and affect how information is obtained and reported.
