General Powell endorses Obama. He says he thinks both men would make good presidents, but right now Obama is the president we need more. He also expresses concern about the behavior of his party and its candidate, choices that they've made.
Of course, that's all a smoke screen. As we know, Powell is making this endorsement because he's black. Much like Joe Lieberman is only supporting McCain because he's white. In fact, it's why McCain is so far ahead in the polls--only black people are voting for Obama and only white people are supporting McCain. Asians and hispanics are just sitting this one out, waiting for 2012's even more historic presidential race, Sununu v. Richardson, when they'll have somebody to vote for.

My memory issues frustrate me, in a lot of different ways.
Like when I make three trips to another room to get something, each time forgetting what it was I had come for, coming back and sitting down, and then remembering again.
EDIT: Oh yeah. Or like when I realized that yesterday I shaved half of my face.
Today, I got my credit card statement for the end of my trip to Seattle.
There are charges for two Japanese restaurants on the same day, and I was going to take great umbrage and call up and dispute the charges. Half an hour of research later, I've constructed a history that might allow for such a thing to have happened, and since I can't verify whether that's true or not, I can't really dispute the charges.

After my friend's Red State/Blue State themed post this morning, I went looking for some information. And I was shocked and surprised to find out that California was only a bastion of hedonism and elitist Volvo driving communism since I got here. For twenty years before Clinton, the state voted Republican in every single presidential election. (Possibly longer.) What I didn't find out, though, was the breakdown of California voting in those elections, except for 2004 where the state went 54/44 for the democratic candidate.
Normally this would be my rant about the electoral college and how California can be completely ignored in the election, until you need some money. For either side. Third party candidates can safely shave ten percent of the vote because California is still 'safe'.
But I'm too tired for a rant.
