I totally deserved this
Mar. 7th, 2009 06:22 pmAside from the cats' refusing to let me sleep in, today has been wonderful.
Donn was here yesterday, so I woke up in a clean house. I went up to Millbrae, arrived there with time to spare to catch the BART up to the City, and hung out at the chinese food and doughnuts place across the street until my companions in crime arrive.
Then zdashamber, marialuminous, and me clambered the hill to Just For Fun, where I found that Obama votive candle for Carabosse (we should talk about shipping it) despite the distracting yard/garage/street sales along the way. There was lots of window shopping and admiring of architecture and a stop at Borderlands to fuss over the cats and discover Christopher Moore's new book. Then we went to Five and Diamond for my one low point of the day--the vest from Steam Trunk that I had special ordered was no bigger than the last time. I suspect this was their way of saying they don't make it any bigger, so buy the thing or sod off. Which is a shame because it's a beautiful piece. If you're smaller than me and looking for something with skull buttons and pinstripes, look them up.
There was a coffee shop across the street, so we procured bagels and baked goods and talked for hours. Alas, zdashamber departed, and then the sun was getting in my eyes, so marialuminous and I relocated to the plaza over the BART station and talked some more. (And I got to use the term 'Neo Victorian'.) Then she came down to the platform to see me off, which made me feel special.
And now I'm home and can abuse the cats. All I'm saying is that Sunday has its work cut out for it, especially given Clock Messing Time.
EDIT:
Did I mention that it was a lovely sunny day?
It was.
