The FBI totally did NOT mean to break the law when they used nonexistent terrorism justifications to break the law. Honest, it was a freak accident, and it will never ever super promise never happen again.
So can we renew the Patriot Act now so that we can hunt down terrorists and not infringe on the civil rights of citizens unneccessarily at all ever?
