If a random burly gentleman in a Wings jersey strolls out the hotel door and says "Hey Sweetheart," check for a cel phone in his upstage hand before replying "Hey, darlin'."

It looks like I forgot to post this yesterday, because I was too busy wibbling.
My friend Jen made a post about the triumph of Electron Boy, a cancer patient in Seattle. You should totally read it.

Today, the day *after* May Day, I finally thought "wouldn't it be cool if the gargoyles got little flower garlands?" sadface
And then... IT RAINED. Like actual rain, not misty or drippy. I walked all the way down to the mailbox, then I caught my breath and walked all the way back up. Then I ran upstairs and got changed so I could go sit in the back yard in the hot tub in the rain. There was thunder, and lightning, and the wind blew every once in a while. And it rained on me, and it was lovely. And I didn't cough once until I went back inside.

That was an exciting game to watch. (I'd still rather watch a Shark 6-3 blowout than see an explosive nailbiter 3-2 loss though. I'm shallow like that.) Joey Pavs is still carrying this team, it feels like but it was good to see Thornton hop on board with a goal and an assist(?).
This game got stroppy. I think Tuesday is going to be downright nasty--the Wings will be at home, and down two games, and they're going to be pissed.
I wonder if I can hear the crowd at the Joe Lewis Arena from my house.

My friend Tahnan found himself in an unpleasant situation recently when Boston experienced some water troubles. (It looks like parts of the city are going to have to boil their water for a while.) He was going to write a post complaining about what a PitA it was, until he suddenly got some perspective. And then, even better, he decided to share that perspective.
He's planning to donate to a water-oriented charity, a dollar for every day that Boston has a water problem.
Ten dollars, according to the website, will give somebody in a third world country clean water for ten years. That spurred me into action. I'm planning to match his donation, and I encourage you to join in however you can. It sounds like a little goes a long way here, and I think I can manage a little.
