I hope tomorrow you'll find better things
Jun. 7th, 2010 02:32 pmGood news from out of Mississippi!
Governor Barbour assures us that the most damaging thing to his state about the BP oil spill is the bad publicity that's currently ruining his state's tourism revenue.
[T]he average viewer thinks that the whole coast from Florida to Texas is ankle-deep in oil. And of course, it's very, very bad for our tourist season. That is the real economic damage. Our first closure of fisheries in Mississippi waters came just earlier this week after about 45 days,
According to the Telegraph article, Barbour also 'compared the slick to the thin sheen of oil commonly found around ski boats'. So the good news is, No Big Deal!

Jun. 7th, 2010 02:43 pmAnd further goodnews/badnews:
OCC has received my application for enrollment and would like me to come in for placement tests.
(Are you down with OCC?)
Helen Thomas is resigning over anti-Israel comments she's made. Disappointing.
My Filament arrived, and a missing package has gone unmissing! Happy mail day, Cyrano!

Jun. 7th, 2010 03:12 pmI've been posting links to the free downloads from RCRDLBL, and I'm curious as to whether anybody is finding them useful. Not if anybody is downloading stuff, but do people want to hear about these, in case there's something they might want to download in the future.
Like, if I said that the Midnight Juggernauts were a rockin' band, kind of Stone Roses kind of Simple Minds, that I enjoyed listening to almost enough to download some of their tracks, would you think "I wish this were FaceBook and I could screen these out" or "If I liked rockin' bands, I might click that link"?
