Local Observations
Nov. 14th, 2010 11:37 amWhile I was at AmberCon, we apparently had some ambitious winds. I returned and the world had gone from a riot of warm colors to a collection of dark barren branches thrust up against the glare of a bright pearly sky. The temperature may have been warmer than when I left, but it still felt like we'd made a shift from Autumn to Winter.
In my experience, bad drivers fall into two schools: Dicks and Idiots. There also tends to be a local preponderance of one or the other. I have definitely moved from the Kingdom of the Idiots to Dickistan.
I am amused that in an effort to chase the Canadian trappers out and claim this land for America, all words have kept their original spelling but have adopted a distinctly New World sound. The only two things that have retained their French pronounciation: the Township of Orion and Target.
