I just tossed out a bunch of papers from college and either proofs or newspapers with my column in them. It's justified--I've been carting them around for 25 years letting them collect dust. But it's hard. It's my writing, and some of it is good. (Also, it feels good to have objective proof that my writing has improved in 25 years.) There's too much clutter in my life, because there's too much stuff that has value. Just... not enough value to justify the space it all takes up, the mental static the clutter causes, and the effort in moving it. And, honestly, there's also a lot of crap that either became crap since I decided to keep it or that I should have thrown out.
I'm taxed. But I'm almost finished.
