Finally breaking out ME3. Not sure how I'm going to do the multi-player part since I suspect I'm the only person on earth who's helming a Shepherd. The improvements in graphics are, every once in a while, startling. Especially things like water and clouds. I'm impressed by the smoothness switching from character control to cut scene, even if I am caught off guard. One thing I'm not crazy about is tarted up Ashley. I'm not saying she isn't still my girlfriend, nor that I am displeased that both of my girlfriends are in my team for my first big mission. But she looks like she's in a Prell commercial. ...I'm not even sure if they still make Prell, but if they do then she's ready to go.

Maybe ME2 just set my expectations too high. I feel like I'm spending more time in cut scenes than actually doing things--they steer me through that boring stuff and drop me into the driver's seat when--no, it's not even just boring stuff. I feel like TouristShep cruising through the storyline. Also, if there's going to be so much 'pre plotted' material, there should be fewer awkward pauses. And there are way too many moments when I say "Oh. And then that happened because plot or something." (Say, for instance, hovering over the dockyards watching a kid get shot by superlasers that should have carved through my ship ten seconds ago.)

I'm having the same problem with 3 as with 2, where my fingers will slip and Shep will smoothly and quickly whip out a heavy pistol and fire a round ahead of me. I've begun reflexively reacting to this by muttering "Sorry. Thought I saw somethin'."
