Miss Friday visited today (yay twice!) and we watched Daily Show and talked a lot and hung out. Then there was grocery shopping and I went completely ape shit at Trader Joe's. Lemon curd, apple/apricotsauce, licorice Altoids, turkey breasts, yogurt, wasabi cashews and chile/lime cashews, lots of foil packeted indian dinners, jars of simmer sauce, and four bottles of iced white tea and ... um. Lots of stuff. But I still want marinara sauce for when 9thmoon visits and I need to suddenly come up with something edible. And then the housemate and I fiercely threatened the greatest battles of the Third Age of Man with wildly inappropriate characters. And now there is Kung Fu Hustle and lots and lots of laundry.
This just in: After finishing all my laundry (as in twenty seconds after) I discovered that I had not in fact lost the quilt cover, I just failed to be able to identify it as such while it was on the quilt. So that did not get washed. q:

And now, because the Lovely Jess Hartley demands it of me, a video meme.

1) Total number of films I own on DVD/video:

Uuuuuuh. Snap judgement, I'd say about.... two hundred? I'm so not counting them.

2) The last film I bought:

Roman Holiday, To Catch a Thief, and a third copy of The Untouchables because I'm not very smart. Anybody want/need their own copy, cheap?

3) The last film I watched:

Does Kung Fu Hustle count? If not, then the HitchHiker's Guide to the Galaxy in the company of the amazing and beautiful Ebonlock.

4) Five films that I watch a lot or that mean a lot to me:

Iron Monkey: I watch it a lot for the action sequences and stunts.
Valmont: For the dialogue and the costumes. Oh, and Colin Firth.
Strictly Ballroom: For the dancing, the heart and the crazy Bazness. A life lived in fear...
Lion in Winter: It's like Who's Afraid of Lady Virginia Woolf? with a history lesson. Amazing.
Amelie: It's a love story, but different.

Tag five people who have to do this meme:

No. q:

Ooh, we have 3 of the films in common, can you guess which ones? :)

Ummmmmmmm
My first guess is that Amelie and Strictly Ballroom, being mushy love stories, failed to make the cut.

Actually SB makes the cut for being wildly imaginative and because I'm a big ballroom dance freak. :)

Woo! Fifty percent! That's.... um. Pretty solid 'F' material. Or a 'C-' after grade inflation so my self concept isn't too damaged by my utter ineptitude and lack of actual ability.
I'm gonna have to go with Valmont then, because everybody watches Dangerous Liaisons instead.

Sadly I'm a DL fan myself, though it wouldn't make my top 5 list ;)

You are not alone. There are many people who are DL fans.
Although I'm convinced it is mostly because they are unaware of the existance of this one. Otherwise, why prefer Keanu Reaves and John Malkovitch to Henry Thomas and Colin Firth? (:
