Okay, so I'm on this LJ group, Audiography, and I've been given an assignment to send mix discs to three total strangers. All I get is a name and address, no LJ account, no hints as to musical preferences. So what I want is suggestions on what to send out. I'm most likely to use pre-made mixes since I want/need to have them mailed out by the 21st (Holy Crap. That's soon. Tersa, I'm gonna go buy ink cartridges tomorrow.) and so have a look at http://www.nog.net/~cyrano/cd if you need suggestions, but please feel free to tell me what you think would be a good mix.

I'll dance to anything by The Smiths...

You're Like a Mental Case
De Profundis Clamo a Te
Difficult Listening

Because those are the three I want right now. :-) On a related note, can I trade you disc and postage money for mix CDs? We have many songs in common, which leads me to believe that the things you like that I haven't heard would be very very cool. (http://home.comcast.net/~carabosse in case I have anything posted that would interest you)

Generally I recommend 'Swirly Girl' as a companion piece to 'Difficult Listening'. And I'd send you these regardless of any trade, but I do admit to having admired the Banghra mix in the past, and have had a passing fancy to the Boondock Saints mix. (That movie ranks right up with Firefly for 'soundtracks I'd like to see officially released'.) I'm not very daring when it comes to new music, at least not as much as I'd like, but the Labyrinth mix looks familiar enough for me to feel safe with as well. (:

I will send you what you mention, and probably throw in the two Bordertown mixes (celt-punk and world beat) because they are good introductions. :-) I've sent e-mail to the nog.net address so that we can confirm details and addresses etc.

No no no! I was cruising the Internet for.... I can't remember exactly what, maybe I was working on the B-Town RPG or something. But you mentioned then on a web page, which led me to your web page and then your LJ and then I said 'You are so cool! I have a big crush on you now!'

Okay, good, because I was feeling a bit stupid that I didn't remember sending you anything. :-)

Hell of a Party, Bitter/Sweet and Swing, Daddy! are probably my favorites, but two of them are quite specific, so I dunno if you want to go with them. Love's Gonna Take a Man and the Git In Mah Belly! suite are probably my next favorites, but Road Trip also gets a lot of play, and well. Nearer to Christmas and I'd say it must be Slouching Toward Bethlehem.

So, uh, any of the ones I have copies of are great, apparently. o.O
