1. Bush Administration admits partial responsibility.
This is, I believe, one of the first times this administration had taken responsibility for something that has gone disastrously wrong or punished somebody in the administration for malfeasance or incompetence rather than proclaiming that really everything's going swimmingly and giving the incompetent malfeasant the Congressional Medal of Honor. (Thus tarnishing said honor.) It makes me happy but at the same time I feel like Charlie Brown just after Lucy says of course I won't pull the football away this time, see I'm even blindfolding myself so I can't see you coming.

2. I get to visit WindRose.
The loads look good, so I believe I'm going to make it. I've shelled out for a rental car. I hope we'll get to listen to the Sharks game (games?) on Sunday. I've been looking forward to this visit, in various forms, for three or four months now, and will not be thwarted this time.

3. Altruism
The people actually doing something, volunteering time and resources, to help out in the aftermath of our latest disaster, makes me feel a little bit better about the future of the human race and puts tiny little faultlines in 'the three S's of human nature'.

4. Ambar's new dog
She's a very pretty girl. And she makes me happy. Whiskers on kittens and big cuddly dogs, like that.

5.
I don't know. I can't think of one off hand. Well, I can, but it's crass and I don't want to post it. Um. Either the 'Good for You!' mix disc I'm working on, or Carabosse's St. Patrick's Day disc she sent me. Both of those make me happy. I got some news last night that made this list really god damned hard to write. I'll probably write about it later, but it's very difficult to look on the sunny side and see the silver lining and stuff.
