   A conservative friend of mine posted an entry crowing about Feinstein getting into an SUV to go one block after a rally about gas and pollution. I'll say here what I said there: it may very well be that security concerns dictate where the officials ride. The Secret Service has apparently loved to use Chevy Suburbans for moving VIP's because the damn things can carry so much armor and are so very, very safe (for those inside). I'm not saying that this is certainly the case, just that we ought to think about it before we rejoice in the politicians' hypocrisy.

If he'd hopped into his SUV right away, I'd probably be less amused by it. Yes, a big car made of metal does provide much better protection than a small one made of fibreglass. Especially if they take the extra effort to bulk it up with armor plating, like the vehicles in Fallujah have.
And personally, I think Feinstein should step down for a variety of hypocrisies unrelated to the oil and petrol issues. (:

Yeah... sadly, she may be a crazy, but she's a crazy that still generally keeps pushing for things I believe in, in washington
