Get closer to be far away

I just failed to go to the gym. I stopped at the Safeway to get the zero calorie fizzy fruit water stuff that I reward myself with when I've had enough regular water, and when I got out of the store it suddenly became too much work to go all the way across the street and go to the gym. Yes, work ran late. Yes, I had ranch dressing in the car (from work, rather than from shopping) and it might go bad. So there were plenty of rationalizations for me. But I got out of the store and all I wanted to do was go home and eat chocolate.
This is not the first time this has happened--making any kind of stop between work and the gym is dangerous. I'm hoping this is not the crashing depressive sweep to follow up the mania of the weekend. I have too much on my to-do list right now for wanting to stay in bed all week.
