Fifty thou a year'll buy a lotta beer

Otherwise I probably would have been up all night working on the 'i ching' mood set. But I wasn't interested in mapping hard and fast emotions to each hex, in addition to creating sixty-four gifs because I couldn't find images small enough for mood icon use.
I have a friend working for a congressional candidate, and I was recently checking said candidate out to make sure that my friend was not working for one of the evil ones. And she's not. In fact, I was so pleased with her positions that I began to think about volunteering, despite being in a different state. And then I thought "Hey, I majored in political science. And she's gonna need a new staff when she arrives in Washington." Yes, 'when', because despite AZ being a traditionally blue state I have great faith. So I sat there and leveraged myself a fantasy job using my education, charm and connections. And then I had to figure out living arrangements in a less scary part of DC, and ask my fantasy boss how often I'd be able to fly home, or at least to the home district. Plus I'd have to get some nicer outfits--no suit jackets, if I could help it, because I'm a populist, but there would have to be a tie and some nice shirts and tailored slacks if I could afford them. And I'd start out on the bottom of the ladder but I'd bet there are still lots of interesting things at the bottom.
Anyway. That fantasy took up most of that evening. Maybe someday I'll write a story about the person who did that.
