Okay, it's Friday. And I think I'm done being a whiny bitch.
So go on. Ask me something. I probably won't whine at you.

Well I should have asked you if you had a spare copy of Windows I could pirate. Oh well!

Oh, here's one: What's the story behind Track 16 of the Reel Big Fish album you lent me?

I... don't believe I have the installation disks for WDZ--my desktop and laptop both came pre-installed.
And I will try to remember to have a look at my library and see if I ripped that track, so as to more explicitly answer your question. My immediate suspicion is that 16 is a 'hidden' track, which has become more and more popular with pop records. I believe Nirvana's breakout album was one of the first to do this; the last track was three and a half minutes of song (Something in the Way, if I recall correctly) and then eight to ten minutes of silence and then thirty seconds of caterwauling, shouting and banging madly at their instruments. Which affrighted me greatly the first time I listened to the album all the way through, as I had quite forgotten the CD was still playing. It was almost as bad as the Cure's 'Subway Song'.

I'm sure you ripped it, but, naturally, I have no idea what the song is called. It starts with about 2.5 minutes of silence and then has this demo-ish, lo-fi cut. I'd be curious to know if it was their actual demo or they doctored the track in studio. I believe there may be a 1 minute of silence on the tail end, but I don't remember.

Hah. I didn't rip it, it looks like, but Wikipedia says it's a rough acoustic cut of "I'm Cool", a track off their first album.

Welcome back. (:
Ummmmm. I don't think anything has dramatically changed in the past few months. I've got a machine that keeps me breathing when I'm asleep, and I'm going to see BauHaus for my birthday, and I'm trying to arrange a social visit to Seattle in August sometime.
