For the past three weeks, I've been sleeping very poorly. Most of the time I feel like somebody just got done beating the crap out of me. My supervisor just told me that I don't have enough hours to cover my holiday in October. I'm still not making enough money to survive. The career path I'm currently on would be good for somebody who's retired or married to a silicon valley businessman. My health and my car are probably on a razor's edge, waiting to take a massive dump. I've got my hands up in front of my face waiting for whatever's next to hit me. I'm obviously fighting the Tao but I can't figure out in exactly what way.

In other news, I got the defunct CD burner replaced with a DVD burner, thanks to 7leaguebootdisk. It has this thing where you flip the disc over and apparently the laser will burn a label for you, which sounds really cool. However, the other DVD drive is apparently jealous and freezes up the computer every time I try to use it. I was tinkering with it when I realized I was late for work, so I'll see what I can do tomorrow.

I'll know more once I can sit down with it. I'm hoping it was just a brief adjustment period and by tonight it'll be all fine again.

I think I forgot to set the new drive to master? Jumper should be on the set of pins closest to you.

Pull both, see that one is set master, the other slave.

I've got one of those burner-that-burns-a-label thingies. They didn't make it too obvious in the documentation though, that it no worky on regular old discs. You have to buy special 'Lightscribe' discs. Not sure if that applies to yours, but probably.

Yeah, it does. Luckily I had somebody with me who already knew that, and so I've got ten brand new Lightscribe DVDs to go with it.
I want to find out if they have Lightscribe CDs too.
