Today I abandoned Henry James, and instead will just find a synopsis to find out what happens in 'Turn of the Screw' which I found atrociously pretentious and boring, and started reading Angela Carter's _AshPuttle_ which appears to be a sort of feminist evaluation of the Cinderella story and is far more engaging.
Also today I went and made Mei run errands until she was exhausted. We got lots of very flash clothes, yummy Olive Garden food, and... something else which escapes me. Anyhow. Sent her to bed early and got caught up on Buffy because my usual (I say usual because that's when I plan to watch it rather than due to ever actually watching it then) Buffy watching time will be taken up by a meeting at work tomorrow evening.
And I have an acting gig, of sorts. I'll be picking up a tidy sum on the fifteenth of next month to play Santa for a two-hour party in San Jose. *Some* people think Dickens Fair sounds cooler, and I say they are sad and lame but if they get done early enough they can still come sit in my lap and tell me if they've been good or not.
Still no theme for this month's Bound.
Tersa's mom arrived today, but I haven't seen her just yet. Left her a note on the white board.
Best wishes to everybody checking out the Leonids tonight.

I did, it was way cool. Also way cold. I would have wrapped myself up in my cloak and kept warm, but Paul didn't think (he often doesn't think) to bring anything to lie on. So I had to be
gallant and share. Why can't men be gallant in today's world? I'm tried of having to do it myself.

In a world where women and men are exactly equal, men are not only not required to be gallant, they are strongly and actively discouraged from doing so.
This may be the source of some of your problems.
Another part may be that in order to be gallant people would have to inconvenience themselves, and neither the men nor the women of society today seem to be in any hurry to inconvenience themselves.

I've had my opinion on Henry James confirmed offline. I feel justified.
