It took me years to write
Nov. 14th, 2006 03:42 pmI'm getting to the point where I've been fighting this particular piece of fanfic for nearly as long as the LARP ran. The latest realization that canon demands I completely rewrite the last third of the story has crushed the carefully cultivated floon which I had gathered recently.
I feel like shoving it into 'the trunk', that fabled place where writers put things that just don't work and then occasionally cannibalize the contents for scenes or turns of phrase. But at the same time, I'm stubborn and refuse to give up on something that has anything good in it. And there's some good stuff in there.
Admittedly, the fact that it's basically the last chapter of book three of a trilogy that about six people I know have read and half of the people who have read it don't want to have anything to do with it, so it's pretty much all about me at this point.
I'm sure there's some smut I could be writing about now.
