This is a link to the front page of today's Texas Observer. And today it tells of the passing of a witty, wise, strong, very funny woman. Molly Ivins has passed on, and one of the few sane voices in politics is silenced. I'm not fluent in Texan, but I hope she's found somewhere people treat each other with respect and dignity because she certainly deserves it.

That is sad news indeed. I'm sure the wing-nuts will be filled with glee and make their usual inappropriate comments.

Actually, at least on that page that Ellie linked to, over half of the comments were well wishes. (And one was a self-congratulatory back patting about how humane and full of goodwill he was.) And that was just when she was admitted to hospital.

Yeah, but Ellie also posted some links to some wing-nuts that were saying unkind things when she was sick.

I'm just glad there are friends who keep an eye on these wackos.
