[personal profile] cyrano

These are the 'in progress and mostly completed' discs on my plate right now.

14. I've Got You Under My Skin -- Frank Sinatra with Bono
15. Cavity Search -- 'Weird' Al Yankovic
16. One -- Johnny Cash
17. Running to Stand Still -- Ewan McGregor
18. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For -- Negativland
19. With or Without You -- Matt Nathanson
Except for cover art, I think this one's pretty much in bed. If it all fits on one disc.

Ahrrr
1. Pirate -- Too Much Joy
2. High Barbary -- Heather Alexander
3. Sea Shanty -- The Pogues
4. Salty Dog -- Flogging Molly
5. Fisher's Hornpipe -- Boiled in Lead

8. Barrett's Privateers -- Stan Rogers
9. Professional Pirate -- Muppet Treasure Island
10. Shiver My Timbers -- Muppet Treasure Island
11. A Pirate's Life -- Walt Disney's Peter Pan
12. Yo Ho -- Pirates of the Caribbean
13. Tobacco Island -- Flogging Molly
14. Jolly Roger -- Adam and the Ants
15. Pirates Who Don't Do Anything -- Reliant K
This one was in stasis until Aelf shared Kel's pirate mix with me. I still need to dig through my library and see if I can come up with more material and then order the tracks and make cover art.

And Sometimes 'Y'
1. Me and Dorothy Parker -- Flash Girls
2. Highway Cafe of the Damned -- Austin Lounge Lizards
3. Whine and Grind/Stand Down Margaret -- English Beat
4. Send the Marines -- Tom Lehrer
5. Schadenfreude -- Lopez/Marx
6. Ghost of Stephen Foster -- Squirrel Nut Zippers
7. James K. Polk -- They Might Be Giants

17. Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner -- Warren Zevon
18. Mr. Spock -- Nerf Herder
19. When the Levee Breaks (DJ Katrina Mix) -- Dread Zeppelin
This is the Sarah Vowell CD, and I've got Bill Clinton and Jack Ruby waiting to be processed for it. It is now of a length, but I'm thinking about trying to find a Sinatra cut for it, or some other tinkering before I send it to her.

Driven Mad
1. Lok Boliyan -- Anakhi
2. Padrino -- Smash Mouth
3. Get Down V2.2 -- EBN
4. Everything That Rises Must Converge -- Shriekback
5. Powerhouse -- Lee Press-On and the Nails

7. I'm Not Wearing Underwear Today -- Lopez/Marx
8. Attractive Today -- Motion City Sountrack
9. Drums of Navarone -- Transglobal Underground

15. Enjoy the Silence (reinterpreted) -- Depeche Mode
16. Bye Bye Baby -- Social Distortion
17. Rite of Shiva -- Machines of Loving Grace
18. Mate Spawn and Die -- Lard
19. March of the Pigs -- Nine Inch Nails.
This was the second housewarming mix disc for AberrantVirtue, and I'm calling it good. It references the first, Drive/Driven, in a number of ways including cover art, Machines of Loving Grace and TGU.

Everybody Comes to Rick's
1. Stairway to Paradise -- Rufus Wainwright
2. Everybody's Talkin' 'Bout Miss Thing -- Lavay Smith and Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers
3. Ain't That a Kick in the Head? -- Robbie Williams

10. I'll Be Seeing You -- Martha Wainwright
11. As Time Goes By -- Mandy Patinkin
12. Why Don't You Do Right? -- Sinead O'Connor
13. Kissing a Fool -- George Michael
14. Fever -- Nana Visitor
15. I Love Being Here With You -- Peggy Lee
16. Can You Forgive Her? (Swing Version) -- Pet Shop Boys
17. Got My Own Thing Now -- Squirrel Nut Zippers
18. Knock On Wood -- Max Steiner
19. Let's Talk About Sex -- Max Raabe

21. Got to Get You in the Mood -- ccc
22. Moondance -- Michael Buble
23. Gee Baby, Ain't I Good to You? -- Susan Boyd
24. Blue Skies -- Lavay Smith and her Red Hot Skillet Lickers
This is, as advertized on the cover art, an Ar Noir soundtrack. Ar Noir is the 'magic meets Marlowe' game that I ran lo these many years ago, and if making a soundtrack for an rpg doesn't fill my geek CV then wait until Jonathan Wallace, BAA (the soundtrack to an RPG that never happened) drops. I've already given away a copy (or two?) of this one so I'm calling it done.

Faded
1. Glory Box -- Portishead
2. Life in Mono (Alice Band Mix) -- Mono
3. Other Side of the World -- KT Tunstall
4. Fallen -- Sarah McLachlan
5. Days Go By (Acoustic) -- Dirty Vegas
6. All I Want Is You -- The Mission UK
7. Pictures of You -- The Cure
8. Last Girl on Earth -- Supreme Beings of Leisure
9. Unlovable -- The Smiths
10. A Good Year for the Roses -- Elvis Costello
11. No-One Is to Blame -- Howard Jones
12. With or Without You -- U2
13. Breakin' Up -- Violent Femmes
14. Don't Think of Me -- Dido
15. Love Will Tear Us Apart -- Joy Division
16. Just Like Roses -- Cruzados
17. It's No Good -- Depeche Mode
18. Only a Memory -- Smithereens
19. Down in It -- Nine Inch Nails
20. Ever Fallen in Love -- Buzzcocks
Everybody needs a mopey self pitying album to listen to when their love life explodes. This year's Valentine's Day mix is running a little late, but I think it's pretty much done. I'm tinkering with song order but I like the way it builds from pathetic maundering to self righteous indignation.

Keeping Up with the Smiths
1. Please Please Please -- Muse
2. Girlfriend in a Coma -- Mojo Nixon
3. There Is a Light that Never Goes Out -- The Lucksmiths
4. This Charming Man -- Death Cab for Cutie
5. Every Day Is Like Sunday -- The Pretenders
6. Batyar -- The Ukrainians
7. Koroleva Ne Polerma -- The Ukrainians
8. How Soon Is Now? -- Snake River Conspiracy
9. M'yaso-Ubistvo -- The Ukrainians
10. Spivaye Solovey -- The Ukrainians
11. Every Day Is Like Sunday -- 10000 Maniacs
12. This Charming Man -- The Stars
13. There Is a Light that Never Goes Out -- Neil Finn
14. Girlfriend in a Coma -- Tony Hawks
15. Please Please Please -- Deftones
16. Asleep -- Xiu Xiu
This album is built like a Russian Nesting Doll, with the Ukrainians in the center. I haven't decided yet if I like that or hate it. So at any point this album may be sundered, rendered and thrown into the vat of molten steel with the T-1000.

Nine Stone Male
1. Come Closer -- DJ Zebra
2. The Hand that Feeds (extended remix) -- Nine Inch Nails
3. Head Like a Hole -- AFI
4. Closer -- Maroon 5
5. Stone Cold Crazy (Trent Reznor remix) -- Queen
6. Dead Souls -- Nine Inch Nails
7. Crushingly Close -- *unknown DJ*
8. Hurt -- Johnny Cash
9. Head Like a Hole -- Pig
10. Get Down Make Love -- Nine Inch Nails
11. Closer -- The String Quartet
12. March of the Pigs -- Mae
13. All Shook Up -- Nine Inch Elvis
14. Germs -- 'Weird' Al Yankovic
15. Closer -- Richard Cheese
16. The Ghost that Feeds -- Nathan Chase
17. Head Like a Hole -- Devo
18. Closer to Mario -- Nine Inch Goombas
I think this one's finished. I just hate that a third of the tracks are 'Closer'. You *do* get me closer to God, but still. I took some tracks I might otherwise have culled just because they're *not* Closer.

Poison from the Cure
1. Lullaby -- Laether Strip
2. Just Like Heaven -- Dinosaur Jr.
3. World in My Eyes -- The Cure
4. The Love Cats -- Tricky
5. Lovesong -- Snake River Conspiracy
6. The Blood -- Fahrenheit 451
7. A Forest -- Nouvelle Vague
8. In Between Days -- Ben Folds
9. Close to No One -- ccc
10. Just Like Heaven -- Charlotte Martin
11. Love Will Tear Us Apart -- The Cure
12. A Forest -- Josh Rouse
13. Disintegration -- Razed in Black
14. Boys Don't Cry -- Idlewild
15. Just Like Heaven -- AFI
16. Jumping Someone Else's Train -- Kill Switch Klick
17. Close to Me -- Get Up Kids
18. Shake Dog Shake -- Ex-VoTo
19. Love Song -- Anberlin
20. Hello I Love You -- The Cure
21. Just Like Heaven -- Katie Melua
22. Lullaby -- Robert Plant and Jimmy Paige
Much like NSM, this album suffers from almost being named 'Just Like The Cure'. I leaned heavily on the Cleopatra '100 Tears' compliation so there were tracks that were not 'Heaven'.

Prince in a Can
1. Baby I'm a Star/Proud Mary -- Prince
2. Jack U Off -- Pansy Division
3. Raspberry Beret -- Hindu Love Gods
4. When Doves Cry -- Ani di Franco and Aimee Mann
5. Nothing Compares 2 U -- Stereophonics
6. Kiss (AoN Mix) -- Tom Jones
7. U Got the Look -- Gary Numan
8. Little Red Corvette -- The Nylons
9. Raspberry Beret -- Warren Zevon
10. Kiss -- Richard Thompson
11. Nothing Compares 2 U -- Sinead O'Connor
12. When U Were Mine -- Crooked Fingers
13. When Doves Cry -- Baz Luhrmann/Quentin Tarver
14. Darling Nikki -- Foo Fighters
15. The Best of You -- Prince
The Superbowl this year helped me bring this album to a point where I might be able to call it finished. Plus, the ability to close with Foo Fighters covering Prince and then Prince covering the Foo Fighters was too good to pass up.

Trouble at the Malt Shoppe
1. You're My Baby -- Jonathan Rice
2. Lewis Boogie Blues -- Waylon Payne
3. That's All Right Mama -- Tyler Hilton
4. Fishnet Stockings -- Stray Cats
5. Desire -- The Polecats
6. Breathless -- X or possibly Jerry Lee Lewis
Windrose's recent shopping trips inspired the start of this one. (Among other things.) This one needs a lot of work. And possibly a trip to iTunes. The Crybaby soundtrack is dying to pitch on on this album.

I think you need the Sex Pistols song "Friggin' in the Riggin'" from the Great Rock & Roll Swindle soundtrack for your Pirate mix. :-) I can send it to you if you don't already have it.
