Technical Difficulties

I was prepared to write up a post raving about Firefox 2.0 and plugins like All-Peers.
However. I can't run Firefox to do so. I click on one of the three options I have to start the program, and the little window says "We had a traumatic shutdown. Do you want to restore or start all over?" Regardless of which option I choose, the same result--nothing. A line labelled 'Firefox' appears in the System Manager's process screen, so technically not 'nothing', but pretty close. Two reboots later, same results. There's this game I like to play that frequently chokes and falls over and creates browser freeze ups, and I'm worried that this new version has reacted fatally with it.
So. It looks like I'm going to try and hunt down an old version and see if I can reinstall. q:

I'd been having stupid fatality issues with the current and prior versions, but 2.0.0.1 works well for me. If you haven't found it yet, go to the Mozilla page, find the link for other languages, and then at the bottom there's a link for earlier versions, and you want the en-us variant of whatever version you choose. But you're smart and probably already found all that. =)

I had not, in fact, done that yet. I'd tried to remove and reinstall and a few other tricks first, to see if I could make it work with the new version, and then ran out of time and had to get out the door to a wedding. (:
