cyrano: (haha)

Today was a very good day. For reports on what all we did and how amazingly successful we were, check Mark's journal, or probably Ellie's because they were the evil masterminds behind the afternoon's activities. I was very glad to be able to play my part, which pretty much involved cutting those mix discs and showing up. It was a beautiful day, and we kept the gig a secret from the guest of honor until about five minutes before he arrived. People were amazingly gracious and friendly and giving, and it's nice to have my faith in humanity's general idiocy and selfishness shattered every once in a while. There were a lot of cool things that got paraded in front of me and I eyed them covetously. But I was virtuous.
And then I went and helped Kirby move his gigantic concrete sofa bed which has created some serious fucked-up-ness in my arms which I'm hoping is only temporary because there's some smaller stuff I want to help him move tomorrow before I attend Tony's birthday festivities in Milpitas.
And then there was FotR with the new Two Towers trailer at the end, and so there was gasping and chirping all through the film, because I got to see it with Angie and Ellie. And then megagasping at the end where they showed the new footage. (I think I'm going to recommend that Shoreline install seatbelts in one cinema so they can do this sort of thing safely.) The trailer, by the way, was very cool. And for those of you who haven't read the books I won't tell you how cool Gandalf looks when he comes back. (*sigh* Sir Ian.)

Update: My body waited until I'd gotten all the way into bed to be violently ill. Dunno if it was me or the afternoon buffet, but I did rediscover bits of apple chicken sausage.

I don't know if I should say I am glad to know I wasn't the only person who got ill last night or not... At least you were in good company.
