cyrano: (Smoke Me a Kipper)

I was really liking this episode. But the big group memory scene struck a few dischords with me. The two team members who had relationships are apparently defined by them, because when Jack says 'find your defining memories' then that's all they can think about.
Owen at least seems to have actually drawn some personality traits from his relationship, which is not too surprising since it was a childhood relationship rather than a dating one.
And then Jack circles the table like a Messiah. "I see you. I'll save you." Is it really all about you, Jack?
And why the hell did nobody bother making written documentation about the Two Days of Adam before they started a session with a full round of amnesia pills? That was an unfortunate flashback to the 'most incompetent secret government agency ever' days.

We wondered why they didn't document everything, too! The best explanation I came up with is still a pretty lame one: they were afraid that recordings might trigger memories which might bring Adam back to life. Either that or they were just so desperate they didn't stop to think. Or maybe I'm just spending too much time thinking about logical inconsistencies in a TV show that seems to exist only so I can watch hot boys kissing each other and occasionally beating the crap out of each other while kissing.

Again I came to the conclusion that Ianto is the only reason I'm watching the show at all. The "Jack's tragic past" stuff just made me want to hit my head against something hard and unyielding for a while. Though I will admit that smitten Owen was a whole lot more palatable than jackass Owen. And I totally agree with you on Jack's messianic streak being more creepy than anything else. Seriously, get over yourself already Jack.

So I'm guessing that next week when Martha takes over coffee duties for Ianto that'll be the end for you? (:

Hmmm. Kind of lame, but at least better than 'D'uuuuuuuuh. We couldn't find a pen.' Given the fact that they apparently also wiped the tape records from the security cameras, I figure it *had* to be deliberate.

Unless she dies, I might tune in for that :) Actually, in a weird way I rather liked her and Jack together with their mutual, "I love the Doctor but he doesn't love me" vibe.
