TIME SENSITIVE FASHION SHOW ALERT

I'm just now putting together a look for the Firefly LARP tomorrow. Below the cut are three photos--mostly different shirts. I would love your advice.

I have the dragons because, even if there are no asian people on the show, there's still an asian influence. Dong ma?


Advantages: Classic white. Sharp contrast. Light fabric so I sweat less.
Disadvantages: Sheer fabric so the white can go a bit pink.



Advantages: Not white, so unusual and untraditional. Nice rich color.
Disadvantages: It's very warm. The contrast, at least in that light, is not as dramatic as I'd thought.



Advantages: That's got the contrast I like. It's silk so it's nice to pet. Bright warm color.
Disadvantages: Short sleeves. It would probably require me to beg Lynthia or Tamago or somebody to do some quick repair assistance--a button and a tear. Less friendly for a cravat.


So tell me what you think, especially if you're familiar with FireFly and/or my wardrobe. And you've got about 24 hours.

EDIT:
As Aberdeen reminded me, I should mention that my character is a Registered Companion, looking to retire. And also, I mention that I tried the black silk shirt and didn't like the lack of contrast between it and the vest, but am willing to be persuaded.

I would go first with the middle - maroon. I don't know your character, but that has the most Firefly feel, to me. I'd go with the white as a second choice. The white doesn't feel as... gritty, as Firefly generally feels to me, but I'd go with the long sleeves over short, and I think there's something too light about the blue.

Hmmm...I think any of them would fit your character and the Firefly realm. Were I you, I'd go for the ensemble that makes you feel most comfortable and most able to effectively portray your character.

That said, I like the contrast of the white. Shiny!

I think I like the first the best, with the white shirt.
It seems like it'd be the best temperature-wise while still maintaining a slightly victorian "gentleman" feel, which I'd associate with a Registered Companion that I'd hire.
I prefer the contrast to the second picture, and for some reason, the white works for me better than the blue (though it could be that short sleeves don't seem to be the thing to me).

I am waiting with baited breath to hear how this goes.
And wishing I was able to be there for it. ^_^;

I like them all, but with the added character information, the white is best. A Companion wouldn't have as much of the "grittiness" that aberdeen rightly associates with the maroon version. Also, a bit of sheerness isn't so bad for the character type.

I'd tell you to go with the pettable silk, but the short sleeves just don't work as well.

I'd go for the top one. The middle, I don't see any contrast, and the top looks more finished and core worlds-y, which is what I think with Companion.

Definitely #1. Add a bright cravat to get the contrast you're looking for. That would bring the focus on your face, which I suspect is what you're liking about #3.
