cyranoThis week, as the weather started to get cooler in places, was my annual "Why am I still here?" maundering. I'd been marking it by the trip to Ashland, but this year Ashland was in the summer. So I'm pretty sure it's when the weather begins to suggest Autumn. So there was the "I can't afford to do anything but survive here" and "They don't have proper seasons here" and the usual string that accompanies me wanting to be back in the Pacific North West.
I don't know how long it'll last. One of my friends here will do something particularly cool, or I'll find a concert or a museum or something that could only happen here. Maybe it'll be when Prop 8 gets voted down, and California stays one of the three states where marriage is gender blind.
