Disheartening: Finishing a few tasks that need to be completed, and realizing that they just reveal a mess of other tasks that must now be completed. Now.

More disheartening: Being half way through a few tasks, each one having revealed a mess of other tasks that must be completed before the original tasks can be finished.

*nod* Been there, done that. It gets better. Eventually, you reach the bottom of the pile, and you'll manage to get to a task that isn't hiding anything underneath.

Heartening: Having friends halfway across the continent berate their radio listeners on your behalf because you did something nice. :) It all balances out...

At least there are many small accomplishments along the way! Congrats on finishing some shit!

Also, the move went fine. Now, I have to get a bunch of boxes unpacked from the laundry room so that I can buy a stacked washer/dryer so that I can call the PG&E guy to check the gas connection while he figures out how to relight the pilot lights of the furnace and oven so that I can bake cookies.

Yay! I'm sorry I missed it, but I'm glad things went well.

That sounds close to the definition of frustration to me.

*nod* Totally get it. I heartily suggest you avoid all home renovation projects.

The lower half of our house is currently uninhabitable because it needs to be painted, which will happen after all the currently open & gutted walls get their drywall and insulation put back/repaired, which will happen after we run all the new Cat6 & coax I have planned, after we install all the conduit for said cables, after we order and receive all said cables, after we confirm that we really can move that little wall and run a new electrical circut to make the new wiring closet. Oh, and we also need flooring installed, which will happen after we schedule the install, after finalizing the flooring choice which we're having second thoughts about, after painting the insulation paint on the cement, after patching and cleaning the cement, after scraping up all the crap left from the last bad carpet install. THEN we can have a guest room / office / business again and move all the crap on the porch back where it belongs. Sigh.

Pollyanna says "At least you're not stuck in one of those loops where you can't do A until you finish B, and B requires that A be done."
And yeah, at least none of my projects involve tearing out walls. Um. Yet. (We're Still Flying!)

I like Pollyanna's attitude. Can she do drywall?

She says she's never actually done it before but she's certainly willing to give it a try!
