Grandmother screaming at the walls.
Aug. 5th, 2002 07:33 amGenerally frustrating weekend, most of it spent at home plotting my revenge. Of course, it was originally planned as a vacation--or as much of one as I could afford. I had a list of 48527435982734 things I needed to accomplish and I'd have the place to myself since the housemate was zuming up to Sacramento.
I went out to dinner on Friday with Mei and Choo, and we sat and talked and talked and talked and talked until after the Outback had closed and locked up, and there was a leisurely (and more or less affordable) trip to Costco (and Petco and Officeco and Comicsco) on Saturday morning with Tersa while we waited for her new tyres to be installed. And a visit to the Beryessa Market with Mei on Sunday, which was much more pleasant than I'd expected--lots of pretty things, lots of shade, not terribly crowded, and we got in and were done before it got uncomfortably hot and packed with people. So getting out of the house, in general, was lovely and pleasant.
However, I spent far too long trying to bludgeon my mp3 software into behaving enough that I could work on some mix discs I'd promised people. Siren was obviously upset about something and shat itself on a semi-regular basis, destroying my playlists each time. I finally got one of the discs done with Roxio, which is very obviously designed for engineers to use. So I got one out of the five I wanted done, and got a nice long walk around the neighborhood which kept me from kicking the living hell out of something.
And then I tore the house apart looking for my NERO character stuff so I could write to plot before the Tuesday plot meeting so that maybe they could use the information I'd gotten at the Fair Day this weekend. *sigh* Heavy drinking would have been far more relaxing and productive. And would at least justify the headaches I keep getting.
So it's back to work now, and the re-realization that I really really need a vacation from a few things.

Date: 2002-08-05 09:42 am (UTC)I've had no trouble with a combination of MusicMatch and WinAmp to create mp3s from CDs and playlist. I can show you how to use both on my 'puter if you would like.
