cyrano: (Asskicking Boots)
[personal profile] cyrano

So, with mild instruction, I discovered a third option--off to the Circle to maybe convince some other magic types to come back and help.
I found the Mabari Dominance landmark at the docks. Wow. I added a good forty square feet of pretty not-dangerous territory there. And then I bullied the kid at the docks into ferrying me across. That... was a very small world map section.
Unfortunately, all the magi are very busy right now and can't come to the phone. They're all possessed by demons. So I figure that if all the magi are dead, then this treaty is pretty useless, so I'm going in.
This was not as creepy as Redcliffe Castle (which was pretty creepy) despite the lumps of Giger-esq flesh entwined around everything.
There were a lot of empty rooms. At first, I thought "okay these dead bodies are going to pop up once I reach the part of the room where they activate" and so things went *really* *slowly* because they never did. They finally did (in like three different waves in a single room) and I was all "About Time".
There was a passel of charmed Templars on level two, and so I directly waded in and told everybody to kill the desire demon so that the charm would be dispelled.
Boy did that work well. But at least we didn't PK.
And just before the final room on Level Three, I thought it was about time to save, since I hadn't done it since Redcliffe. And about half way through that fight, the computer crashed. Yay for good timing. (:
I saw the red lettering on the Abomination and I panicked, but it was an easy take down. I told everybody to wait in the hall, and then I opened the door and waved, luring everybody but the archers outside.
Fourth floor, alas, was trickier. The first door on the left was another desire demon and her Templar. For some reason, this time we decided to have a philosophical chat instead of just putting them down. Which was weird. And then Sten tells me we should just leave them alone. (????) After all, if I kill the demon, "what has he learned?"
Uh.
1. He's learned that he's dead.
2. He's learned not to get possessed by demons.
3. Where the hell were you and your bizarre morals downstairs with the half dozen Templars?
Finally I said "Go to hell and die" and for some reason, one demon one templar and a few skeletons were more than a match for us and we all went down.

So I restarted, refought the Abomination again, went upstairs, and *this* time said I'm taking the *other* door. So I opened that door, and a big ugly demon put me to sleep.
