cyrano: (Asskicking Boots)
[personal profile] cyrano
I just discovered this. Has anybody else had experience with it?
Is it just a giant time suck, or is it a rich addition to the Dragon Age world?
(I've gone completely different from my DA:O character and have a human warrior.)

I haven't played it, but now I may have to. Heh.

I don't know that I'd call it a rich addition, but it's an entertaining way to waste some time, and if you're somewhere you can't play DA:O, but *can* use Flash, it'll scratch the itch.

Yeah, it was fun. I wrapped my first time through in an evening. Plus, it was a peek into Orzammar, which I hadn't seen yet.

Our GM doesn't use modules very much, and when he does he bastardizes the hell out of them. But I haven't played or seen that series.

It's actually a supplement to a computer game by EA--the folks who did the Tolkien video games. It's caught on, not so much for the facile interface as for the rich tapestry of history and culture that it's played out on as well as the implication that your choices in the game affect how the game plays out--like actual role playing.

(Oh, there we go, tracking back in LJ to find this...)

Thanks to your G-D post, I had to go check it out.

My opinion after playing it is that I agree with [livejournal.com profile] roisnoir: I wouldn't call it a rich addition to the world, but it was an interesting way to waste some time (and the objects you get from it for your regular console game aren't bad).

Since you mentioned it in your comment:

Plus, it was a peek into Orzammar, which I hadn't seen yet.

I'll note that IMO, it wasn't a great glimpse. There were hints around the edges of what Orzammar is like, better hints about the Grey Wardens that you may or may not have gotten yet in 'Origins' (if you kept Martine in your party--and I actually kind of objected to some of the hints dropped there, for IC reasons), and I'm trying to figure out how the fuck the story I got makes sense in the world presented in Origins. :P

That said: I want chapter two now.
