Holy Crap.
After over two years of being mysteriously unresponsive and mute, my CD player has just sprung to life.
It seemed dead--nothing happened if I pressed any of the buttons. No eject, no play, no nothing. The radio and tape player still worked, so I still had an alarm clock that functioned.
But now I can listen to that Matthew Sweet album I haven't heard in two years.
Yay! and Weird!
(I'm still a bit leery of actually putting anything in there that I want to ever get out again, so right now the only thing in there, as a test, is the Weird Al single.)

This has happened to me before. It's really creepy. When my stereo initially moved to Pullman, the remote stopped working (no matter what kind of batteries were in it). About three years later --- poof --- it functions again. Then, of course, the radio conked out. Still waiting for that to fix itself.

It's sort of like that cop in tennessee who after being in a coma for ten years, started talking!

...of course, he stopped again within a day or two.

Speaking of CDs...

I haven't been able to get the CD you gave me to work. Sad! However, happy to hear your player seems to be working.

Your CD player doesn't have an emergency door opening?
