This morning I did my first 'all by myself' blood test. The instructions for using the test strips (the little chunk of plastic that you bleed on) contains this useful information:
These test strips are for use outside the body only. Do not eat these test strips. The cap contains beads to keep the test strips dry. Do not eat the beads.

Now, I understand that when I do this test I'm not supposed to have eaten in four hours, so I'm likely to take anything that I find in my hand and shove it in my mouth, but here's my concern. There is no such warning on the lancet container, or the box that holds the electronic doo dad that does the blood testing. How am I supposed to know not to eat that? It's about the size of a cell phone, I could finish that off in two bites easily.
