Let us say, hypothetically, that I'm composing a radio program. Let us also say that within my theme I have a large proportion of various musical genres--swing, or punk, or club, or eighties, or whatnot.
As a listener, keeping in mind that you may like or dislike the genre in question, how large a block of music from a single genre do you want to hear (assuming that the show is not about that genre)?
Two or three songs at a time, marbled gently and intertwining throughout? Meaty chunks of homogeneous sound?
