It didn't hit me quite so sharply with Mubarak, because honestly he never really cut that much of a figure, but it really showed with Qaddafi. He's not just old, he looks like the life has been drained out of him. My Qaddafi, the "Line of Death" Qaddafi? If you liked that type, he was handsome and confident--he was a GQ dictator. Qaddafi, Mubarak, Castro.... all the superpower puppet dictators of my youth, they're just not the same. Who feels threatened by a Communist in a wheelchair? Chrissy Hynde was right.
