Dragon Age--No Actual Progress

Last night I went back and ran the fight with Cautherine over and over and over. There was one point where forces opposed were reduced to her and four other soldiers, but each time I was very soundly put down. (Oh, you know how it says that Morrigan's flying swarm is immune to missiles? Total lie.)
I finally got the Queen's 'save me from these brigands' bit that makes people want to slap her, and I found out how to get that rescue mission that roisnoir was talking about. (Of course, I didn't know I was picking a team, so I got Leliana and Dog to show up and die in about three seconds flat.)
I played until I started to get annoyed (also discovered that if you pause and tell a character to do something and then shift focus before unpausing, they will figure you were just kidding and continue to stare blankly at a wall) and then decided it was time to leave this battle for now.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I went back down to the dungeon, and *this* time my elf had heard about specific instances of dickishness from the elven prisoner, so I made him give me enough money to make up for what I doled out to Alistair's harridan sister. And then I stuck a dagger in his privilege.
