I priced tickets for a summer flight before I had exact dates a month ago. About $300 on SouthWest.
This afternoon, with dates, I went to the website. $500. I wait an hour to confirm some information from somebody who's at lunch. $600.

Just a note -- I once had a plane ticket jump some hundred dollars from when I began pricing and when I bought the ticket (my session timed out in between). After purchasing the new ticket at the higher price, I discovered that it was due to the dates being reset when the session expired. It may not be the case this time, but it's worth a check.

Check on Wednesday (or Tuesday, I've heard Tuesday is also a good day to check). Fly on not Fridays and not Sundays, if you can. :)
