Doctor Who was on probation after last season--I didn't finish watching it, but decided to give the new season a chance. And... the first five minutes nearly got it shut off again. River popping the Doctor in the mouth saved it. Seeing Marc Sheppard again is lovely, especially with his new accent, and once again, poor Rory. Boys just don't seem to do well in the TARDIS lately. Adric, Turlough, Mickey, Adam, Jack, even Krazy Kamelion.
And I loved the [spoiler] exchange with Nixon. And I love that the ending more or less made sense.
I'm a little apprehensive about the [spoiler] season arc, concerned that it'll continue the 'must be more ludicrous' trend that's been developing. But given the number of hints on 'things to come' in these first two episodes, maybe they'll just sort of forget about that.

AAAaaaadric. Oh my beloved boy I still miss him. I'm staying away from Doctor Who until someone lets me know that his horrible companion dies a horrible, fiery death. Once Amy has been reduced to an unidentifiable pile of ash I might be willing to tune in again. Until then I think I'll just wait for the new season of Sherlock.
