Acting with an eyepatch on is weird. It feels kind of like having a stroke, partly because I can't see half the stage, partly because I'm trying not to dislodge the slippery bastard, partly because... I don't know. I know I'm not as expressive, and I'm very aware of it.
In other news, Saturday's closing performance is sold out. If you don't have tickets, tonight and tomorrow are it.

So are you getting reviews? How are they? Did you learn to juggle? Successfully play the...mandolin (I think it was)?

Apparently every newspaper who sent a reviewer dropped the ball and will not publish until we close, or something. But the folks I've talked to have not told me we sucked, so people are enjoying it or they're lying to my face. (: Things feel pretty good, too.

I can sort of juggle, but the 'one eye and no glasses' thing is really a deal killer for juggling well. We're using a recorded mandolin (which I can't hear, a whole extra level of excitement), and I.... string synch, I guess. (:

*bites them* What's the point of publishing a review for a show that's closed?

But I guess if you're last show is sold out, you guys must not be doing too badly.

Ergh. Yeah. I wonder what the writer/director/whoever made that decision was thinking, having someone juggle with no depth perception?

LOL. They should've given you a bluetooth headset or something to hear it. :)

Oh, and I guess the line memorization went okay, too?

Lines are probably the thing I'm most impressed with. I have 3x/4x more lines in this show than I've ever had, and every night I remember to say *many* of them, often in the correct order.

Yes, there were a lot of evenings full of "Oh my god I don't know any of my fucking lines what the hell made me think I could do this I'm going to look like an idiot", but I seem to have pulled my shit together. I could have used two or maybe three more rehearsals to feel comfortable on opening night, but...

Speaking from my somewhat limited experience, that seems to be the case on almost every opening night. :)
