So I felt really badly because RoseNeko really wanted to see my play, and I really wanted to go to her blog launch (Rebel Bartender! Check it out!) And then Amanda suggested that I look into plane tickets, you know, just in case. John complained about how poor he felt and it was determined that the Bank of Lodden would not fund such frivolities. However, when I found out that such a trip would only set me back about $300, I fired off a quick email to Rose, who was in Tucson helping her friend Adam move.
See, I had just promised the day before that I was not planning to surprise her with an appearance at her party. She showed up briefly on IM and I said "read your email!" before she went off to breakfast. Which she proceeded not to do. So I fussed, and then I finally said 'screw it' and bought the tickets, sending her another email.
Those of you who are fans of classical literature will see where this is going. No. No, I do not get consumption, nor does my long lost twin brother come unexpectedly to town.
Fine, I'll tell you. Last night, Rose had front row seats to my performance. She brought me a lovely bouquet (Roses, natch.) and was kind enough to toss it to me when both my hands were in the hands of fellow actors. Apparently, herself, Amanda, and her mother conspired against me to take revenge upon myself and her mother sneaking me up to Alaska to attend her wedding two years ago.
So instead of no visits, there are two visits. And I'm a little bit smug about it. Thus the icon.
