Dragon Age--Alienated
Jun. 2nd, 2011 12:41 amI finally managed to put down Ser Cauthrien.
I take that back. The problem was not putting her down. It was fighting the game to let me use my tactics, and draw her back down the corridor so we didn't spend the entire battle under the withering fire of eleven thousand archers. *That* is what took me so long. She was a spitfire, and I'm sorry to see her go. But I'm not sorry to move on.
Weird thing: at battle's conclusion, everybody is dead but Shale is still pounding the living crap out of something. At intervals, there is an eerie scream of pain. I finally had to take off my headphones.
This meant that the Alienage was finally open to me, and I was hoping it would get creepy, but the doll was just a doll, abandoned just before supper. It was, however, an interesting storyline. I was morally horrified in the right places. And we're going to take Ser Otto to the orphanage.
And an unpleasant thing started happening to me tonight--three times, the game would suddenly refuse to accept input, from the keyboard or the mouse. Nothing to be done but shell out, kill the program, and start over. I am not a big fan of this. My protection with McAffee expired yesterday, but I'm certain they wouldn't inject a virus out of pique on their way out the door. q:
That made me cranky, and so I quit early.
Hunh. 'Early'. It's nearly one in the morning. Time flies when you're infected with a weird plague.

But is the time to note that there is creepy upcoming. :)
