cyrano: (Killing everyone)

My quick review of the Landsmeet.

Oh look. Anora threw us under the bus.

Again.

Imagine my surprise and shock.

Also? Zahara started out thinking that it would be politically expedient for Alistair to defeat Loghain Kitten Eater, but that was before I was reminded that Alistair has trouble tying his shoes in the morning, which is why we got him the red steel heavy boots with velcro.

What's the difference? Expliquez, s'il vous plait.

MetaGaming.
When Zahara goes into the Landsmeet, she thinks that if Alistair is going to have to do the King thing, having him defeat Loghain in Single Combat is going to be a wiser option than having his suspiciously foreign Grey Warden buddy do his fighting for him.
However, when CJ goes into the Landsmeet for the fifth time, having seen Alistair go down like the ratings for Two and a Half Men four previous times, he starts to think that maybe Zahara's faith in Alistair is a bit misplaced.

LOL. :)

Loghain is a tough boss to beat hand-to-hand is all, and it may be that since you've playing a rogue, you don't know the tricks to fighting sword-and-shield. I know it took me until I played one to get the knack.

I wonder if that's part of it. In Ostagar or somewhere very early on, I picked up a nifty 2h weapon, and so at that point Alistair became a massive weapon specialist.

Ahhhhh. Interesting.

He starts as sword-and-shield, so rather than nerf him, I usually keep him on that. 'Free' abilities you don't have to pay for. By the time I get to the Landsmeet, he's generally maxed out in those abilities, plus it requires Dex in a lot of cases which makes him harder to hit.

I only played two-handed with Sten and Oghren, but what little I did play them, I didn't like it much. Other people have told me that they do it better in DA2--and I'm playing a two-handed warrior right now and I like it. :)

Yeah, I think I looked at it and decided that he didn't have that many sword and shield specific things, and whatever this weapon was it must have been cool. I also didn't know that I'd be getting a two-handed specialist in the next town. He's not maxed out, but most of what he doesn't have is for fighting golems.

There's a lot of that on the first playthrough. :)
