It finally happened, that concert I kept talking about.
And Matt Nathanson was awesome. After his concert, he hung out in the lobby and took pictures and signed stuff and texted on cel phones to girls who couldn't make it.
The bad news is, the sound sucked oversized ivory-handled moose wang. Parachute were a bunch of very nice boys who were obviously having a lot of fun. But the roaring throbbing cthuloid mass of sound that pulsated off the stage was a bass-heavy cacaphony with very little in the way of discernable elements. Fitz and the Tantrums got off a little better, but if I hadn't heard them on the YouTubes I sure wouldn't have been the least bit interested.
Matt Nathanson fooled them by doing a simple set with an acoustic guitar and Aaron playing bass and singing back up--not enough different sounds to screw things up too badly.
And to all of you who missed out, Matt says "Hey. Rock on."
