Many of you have heard about this Far West RPG that I've been pimping. It's nineteenth century China butting up against nineteenth century western (United States). The writing I've seen has been evocative and made my mouth water, and if I have not yet convinced you Firefly people that you want in on this, there are airships. Zeppelins, baby.

Anyway. The reason I'm writing this is not to once again tell people 'this is cool'. It's to make a plea. Remember the meme that comes around in November? "This is what I want for Christmas and if anybody can help with it then yay me and yay you"?

Currently the fundraising on this project is one of the highest they've ever seen for an RPG, but retailers have been shy to get in on it, which is not too surprising. Economy, blah blah, kickstart, blah blah. So in order to drum up some retailer support, the gang at Adamant has introduced a contest, like the candy bar sales you had when you were in school. The person who garners the most retail sales ($25 per book, starting at five books) gets a bump in prestige. And I will admit it--I want to be prestigious.

So if you know a retailer who you think would benefit from being in on this project, and you know a coyote who wants to be prestigious, perhaps you could discuss it with them. There's a week left in the kickstart and whoever is the tallest kitty in seven days gets the bump. If you show off the product to them and they're interested, ask them to go to the kickstart page and put my name in (Cyrano Jones) when they fill out the form. Because I would be your best friend.

Ooh! That sounds interesting. I'd love a steampunky Wild West setting that wasn't as full of neo-confederate nostalgia as Deadlands. Sadly, I know no retailers :(

Yeah, the civil war in this setting is more Firefly-ish than American history. I'm not sure how many gamers in my neck of the woods will fancy it, but I'm going to have the book anyway. (:
