I have made mention in the past that a week from today I will be on the West Coast again. Reaction has been subdued, but positive. Now, I have more exact plans.

Thu 15 Sep, Afternoon: Arrive at SJC with Amanda. Cari has offered us crash space, although she may have been drunk at the time. She has not yet responded to follow up email.

Fri 16 Sep: Largely unscheduled.

Sat 17 Sep, Afternoon: Private engagements for both of us, through dinner.

Sun 18 Sep, Brunchy: Public debauchery at Baji's. Everybody is invited, and everybody is encouraged to order the fried potatoes even if they are full of both starch and fat which I am forbidden both.

Sun 18 Sep, Evening: All you can eat sushi at Satsuma, a venerable tradition, also come if you will, come as you are.

Both Sunday gigs are, in case it was not clear, full on everybody is invited. I will get more specific about times, but predict 10:30-11:00 for brunch and 18:00 for dinner.

Mon 19 Sep: The trek north into the vasty wastes, and the Ashland Shakespeare festival. Tickets include Pirates of Penzance, Henry IV 2, Julius Caesar, Measure for Measure, Love's Labour's Lost, Willfull, and the African Company Presents Richard III. This will likely extend beyond Monday.

Sometime between the afternoon of Sun 25 Sep and the evening of Monday 26 Sep we will return to the sun-kissed climes of San Jose, and probably have a low key "O God we forgot to have Afghani food" stay before Tuesday 27 Sep when we fly back to Michigan. Which will probably not yet be buried in snowdrifts.

This information released into the public domain on 08 Sep for general reprinting.

Some friends poo poo the sushi there, and the AYCE special is limited to a list of about two dozen of the rolls, but for $22? I really can't complain too loudly. And I'd love to see you there. (:

I was spoiled during vacation: they had an all you can eat place in Myrtle Beach for $11. Not just rolls, either, all sorts of nigiri, tuna, salmon, tobiko, and quite decent quality. We could not figure out the economic model.

That sounds pretty spoileriffic. (: mmmmmm nigiri. (It's often low in fat, and if I pick the fish off the rice then it's also low in carbs!)

It'll wait until October 1st to do that.

;)

Looking forward to getting to see you. <3

Oo, tell me what you think of Willful. It's the one thing we'd probably consider a return trip for this year. Pirates was our big winner this last trip.

I've heard Julius Caesar is really good, and when they said "We are reconsidering our 'dark on Mondays' policy for new Pirates dates" I figured that it must be pretty good.

I'm still not really sure *what* Willful is, but I'm looking forward to finding out.

Caesar was good. We saw it with Caesar's understudy, though, so i'm not sure what your experience will be like. And we saw Measure for Measure in the temporary in the park replacement for the Bowmer while it was under repair, so I'm not sure how the staging will be different for that, too.

Never seen M4M, mostly because it's one of my least favorite plays. Everybody's a dick and the Duke is a superdick, from my reading. I'm hoping that seeing it changes my mind.

Well, it may help that the duke is Anthony Heald, who is awesome in everything. And they did this kind of funky 1970s/barrio/ghetto angle to some of the staging. One guy in particular was really deep into a blaxploitation groove.

I will be quite happy to fall on that fried potato-y grenade for you at Baji's 'cause that's just the kind of heroic, starch-loving gal I am. Can't wait to see you Saturday!!!

Any estimate of time for Sunday brunch? We got church stuff at normal church time; perhaps we can meet up after that?

I'm gonna say ten forty-five, because eleven sounds too late and ten thirty sounds too early. (: And we can try to work around church if you can't make it.
