Finally watched "Let's Kill Hitler". It's obvious Moffat put a lot of effort into it, is very excited about it, and wants me to be as well.

Meh.

Hell on Wheels. It's a Western. It's gritty and dark.

Meh.

Maybe I'm just old and cranky. Maybe that's why I'm beating my head against this stupid story and still stuck at a few thousand words.

Do not want.

You didn't like "Let's Kill Hitler" because it didn't make any damned sense. River's programmed to kill someone who is known to regenerate, but that programming doesn't have a "and if you see him again after you've killed him, kill him again" aspect to it? The "for justice!" mini-people kill for justice, but do it before the crimes have been committed? (Yes, I argued that they made a comment about being too early in Hitler's timeline, but then they spotted River and tried to take her out even though it was too early for her, too. So either they DO have a policy of waiting until the crimes have been committed, or they DON'T, and Moffat should make up his damned mind.)

I didn't watch much of Hell on Wheels, but the "put more arrows in the bodies, it'll make a better picture" was... meh. If the rest of the series was like that, then... meh.

And you are stuck on your story because you don't have enough to actually write, but you won't let it go. Some things are only supposed to be a couple thousand words. (Imagine, for example, if Moffat had stuck with the River-regeneration thing but left the justice people out. It would help make the story better. But he's got a certain amount of time to fill every episode, so he can't cut out the excess crap, and he's no good at writing filler. You don't have to fill a particular amount of space with your words, yet you keep trying to bring it to a certain wordcount.)

Well yes, but Moffat has a tradition of making no damned sense. You'd think I'd get used to it.

Hell on Wheels--kind of like Deadwood but without the emotional involvement and the characters aren't that interesting yet. So... probably meh.

And I'm not aiming for 50K words on Young Bones Groan. I'm specifically aiming to finish the story that I think needs telling. The idea is to make November a point of focus. I now feel comfident I'll finish it before March, but not so much that I'll finish it in November still.
