Watching (in stolen moments) Battle Royale. I'd forgotten how .... how much Hunger Games suffers when standing next to it.

Battle Royale is based on a novel. :)

And fully agreed...I keep thinking about BR when I'm reading HG, and it makes me disappointed in HG. I think I'd have a much higher opinion of it if I'd never been exposed to BR.

Yeah, but I haven't read the novel or the manga, and so I'm aware that I can make no useful comparisons there.
