ZOMG. So Kit showed me the "Aurors" trailer today and I mentioned that it was odd with the American accents. Then I got to thinking, surely France and Generic Eastern Europe couldn't be the only foreign wizarding schools.

And now I want to do a Blackboard Jungle/Mod Squad/Jump Street sort of Harry Potter game. The suggested title of the series should be somewhat obvious.

Yes, I've thought before that an American school in the Potterverse is a ripe setting for an RPG. Good luck!

Well, and I think it's important that it be that very American public school instead of some sort of posh private boarding school. We took a moment trying to figure out how poor wizards without a secret bank account at Gringott's might accomodate.

With it not being a boarding school, I think formal houses are unlikely. We might have cliques and gangs, but affiliations would have to be much more fluid, I think.
Hrmmm. Looking at the sport analogy, maybe houses would turn into cross-town rivalries with other schools.

There's actually an internet theory that Harry Dresden and Harry Potter occupy the same universe. And when you stop to think about it, it makes a certain, weird sense.
