The lovely and talented Megan is coming to visit for a weekend and has asked what's cool.

I'm thinking the zoo, Greenfield Ford Extravaganza, the DIA....
What else? Talk to me, Michiganders, tell me what makes this place awesome.

You've got the big ones, though I can't stress a trip to the village if the weather is nice enough, it's one of my favorites. Espicaly when I'm entertaining out of town guests.

Well, when I was there, I remember seeing this awesome play. I wonder if the company has done anything neat since then? I remember them having a pretty good cast.

The dunes are cool, but distant. There are a couple of town centers like Royal Oak or Rochester Hills that are nice to walk around in.

Dearborn is nice if you're looking for food.

It depends on how much time you have available. Henry Ford/Greenfield Village is very nice, but you really need a day for each. Frankenmuth is nice, if you're on the northern side of town already. The zoo can be a half-day thing if you're pressed for time. Ann Arbor has a Children's Museum, if you're on the west side of town already and you like Children's Museums. Cranbrook has some nifty stuff, but check their website because I think some of it is closed. There's the planetarium up in Flint.

You could also look at the list at http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g42139-Activities-Detroit_Michigan.html which I only glanced at the first five or six items on and cannot vouch for anything below that.

Any of your State or Metro parks if you're into the nature thing (also, inexpensive).
