It's photos again so it's time to show you the pretty pictures. We wandered down to the end of Mission Point, where there are some historical things (the light house information center and a log cabin).

I caved and got a cool map of lighthouses in Michigan and a $5 pass to wander around in the light house. The main attraction is 'you can climb up to the tower'.
**NOTE: I turned the camera to take these pictures, so I rotated the images when I uploaded them. Apparently LJ Scrapbook saw that and said Hey That Looks Like Fun so they all got rotated *again*. Just tip your head and move on.**

It starts off pretty innocently, with a set of stairs. But they quickly progress, steeper, and narrower...

That last shot is up through a hole in the roof that is nearly the size of me. But at the top, in a room that is marked 'Safe for *only* three people' and 'Enter at your own risk', you can survey the grounds and then take a picture of Amanda that's a reversal of your first picture from below looking up.

I found a bottle of Henry Weinhards for lunch, and we moved on to The Big Bridge.

The countryside continues to remind me of home. Seattle folks--does this not look pretty much exactly like being on 405?

And now we're in Manistique, which is a cool name in the middle of pretty much nowhere. Sprint does not believe the Upper Penninsula exists. Tomorrow, there are springs to investigate. Because we have these feet....
